What is Marketing?

Marketing is the process by which people are interested in the product or service of your company. This occurs by researching the market, analysis, and understanding the interests of your ideal client. Marketing concerns all aspects of a company, including the development of products, distribution methods, sales, and advertising.

What is Modern Marketing?

Modern commercialization began in the fifties when people began to use a product more than just print media. Like TV and the Internet soon — households were entering, marketers were able to conduct whole campaigns across several platforms. And, as you would expect, marketers have become increasingly important in the last 70 years to improve how a company sells a product to consumers in order to optimize its success.

Types of Marketing

Where you conduct your marketing campaigns depends entirely on the location of your customers. It is up to you to do market research that determines the marketing types — and which tool mixes in each type — the best way to build your brand. Several marketing types today are relevant, of which some have endured the time test:

  • Internet marketings: The very idea of being present on the internet for business reasons is a kind of marketing itself, inspired by an Excedrin product campaign held online.
  • Marketing search engines: This sort of marketing is slightly different from the above-described SEO. Companies can now pay for a search engine to put links on their index pages that will be highly exposed. (It’s a “pay-per-click” concept — the following section shows an example of this).
  • Search engine optimization: Abridged “SEO,” this is a process by which website content is optimized to be displayed in search engine results. This is used by marketers to attract people who conduct searches to imply that they want to learn about a certain industry.
  • Print Marketing: As newspapers and magazines become more aware of who subscribes to their materials, companies are sponsoring articles, photographs, and similar content in their customer’s publications.
  • Blog marketing: Blogs do not belong to a single writer anymore. Brands are now publishing blogs about their industry and fostering the interests of potential customers looking for information on the internet.
  • Social media marketing: companies can over time make impressions on their audiences using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Quora, and similar social networks.
  • Video marketing: In the past, marketers have used only commercials to create and publish videos of every kind that entertain and educate their key customers.

Marketing and Advertising

If the commercialization is a wheel, publicity is one of those wheels.

Marketing involves the development of the product, market research, distribution of products, sales strategy, and customer support. The marketing of an enterprise in all its phases will be required and it will be able to identify, communicate to, amplify and build loyalty over time on numerous platforms, social networks, and teams within your organization.
Advertising is only one part of commercialization, on the other hand. The awareness of a product or service is usually a strategic effort, which is used as part of the holístic objectives outlined above. It is not the only way marketers can sell a product, simply.

Let us say that a company is implementing a brand new product and wants to develop a campaign to promote it to the client base. Facebook, Instagram, Google, and its website are the channels of choice for this business. It uses all these spaces to encourage and generate guidance from its various campaigns every quarter.
In order to broadcast its new product launch, a downloadable product manual is published on its website, a video is posted to Instagram showing its new product and search results are sponsored by Google that directs traffic to a new product page on its website.

Now, which of the above decisions were advertising and marketing?
Announcements were made on Instagram and Google. Instagram is usually not an advertising channel, but you can develop a basis from time to time when you are used for branding, which is designed for a soft product announcement. The company paid for Google space – a program known as Pay-per-Click (PPC) – in which traffic was transferred to the specific page focusing on its product. Google has certainly been used to make advertising. An online ad that’s classic.
Where was the marketing conducted?

This was a little tricky since the whole process was marketing. The company has run a 3-part marketing campaign, which identified its audience, created a message for that audience, and delivered it throughout the whole industry to maximize impact by aligning Instagram and Google and its own website around a customer-oriented initiative.
